 Great Organizer July 24, 2010
I have had a Fujitsu scanner for several years and have used the Rack2 Filer from the beginning. The this is an upgrade in software for me. It has met all expectations. Easy to load, relatively simple to use, and easy to use. The book like presentation for the files makes it very simple to organize,label, note, and find files for research.

I found the easy flip view of 2 pages on my 17" windows laptop the clearest and best navigatable view of any other of the pdf viewers.
However Adobe Acrobat came close and this was the only feature I liked.
I did not care for the binder system which is a proprietary database. It seems like you could corrupt it quite easily. I made a change to a folder in windows and when I went to the same associated binder in rack 2 filer, it wasn't able to open the folder at all. meanwhile I am still looking for organizing software for my fujitsu fi-6130 (doesn't come with easy to use manager software like my old scansnap S510 and newer S1500M but it is faster for my higher volume scans). So far, I am trying File Center which works with the Windows file folder structure and also just staying within Adobe Acrobat. was hoping to find something that worked both in my mac laptop as well as windows. still looking...

This is an excellent graphical document organizer but beware that activation may fail for no reason and the 800 phone support is inadequate. After upgrading to Windows 7, I cannot re-authoirize the software on the same computer and noone can provide a solution.

Take careful note of the complaints from others about non existent customer service on this product. This software has the makings of a fabulous product, but it is rendered useless by ZERO customer service. I own V4.0 from a previous scanner purchase. We needed an additional scanner so I contacted customer service to ask about compatibility between V4 and V5. Customer service could not be reached and my email question was completely ignored.
This is not cheap software. There is no excuse for customers to be treated so disrespectfully. If you think there is any possibility you might need customer support for this product, do not buy it. Customer support does not exist. Such a pity, for this could have been a great companion product to an excellent scanner.
